BEATITUDE

Beatitude, as a project, seeks to explore the moments, memories and experiences gained over my years as a punter, performer and promoter, in the alternative dance music and art scene of post millenial Tyneside, in the North East of England.

Its first incarnation, The Realm, is presented as a book and exhibition, intended as a narrative reflection of my life as a DJ and cultural organiser – from 2008 to 2024 – selected and sequenced to tell the clouded tale of an imaginary night of partying, an homage to the people, places and moments that i have encountered across my many years venturing in nightlife.

Purposefully avoiding the full-frontal flash, lifestyle portraiture usually associated with club photography, abstract light works sit alongside glimpsed moments to allude to liminal shared memories and empirical encounters.
